Prayer for the
24th LOCAL WORLD YOUTH DAY
in the City of Naga , Cebu on April 2-5, 2009
God our Father,
We consecrate to You the Local World Youth Day in Naga in 2009. Guide and protect Pope Benedict, Cardinal Vidal and all the leaders of the Church. Inspire and direct all those leading and planning the Local World Youth Day. Unite and protect them by Your fatherly care. Amen.
Lord Jesus Christ,
Before You ascended to the Father, You promised to send Your Holy Spirit so that we might be your witnesses to the end of the earth. Bless and multiply the efforts of all our staff and volunteers. Help us to take up our cross and follow You, under the heavenly sign of Cross. Amen.
Holy Spirit,
Pour out Your grace on the Cradle of Christianity and grant to us a New Pentecost. Make this land a true place of welcome for the young people of the Visayas. Grant to those young people who come conversion of life, a deeper faith, and love for all. Enable them to build a new civilization of life, love and truth. Make them true witnesses to Your power and grace. Amen.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of Cebu, pray for us.
St. Francis of Assisi , our patron, pray for us.
Beato Pedro Calungsod, patron of the youth of the Visayas, pray for us.

Towards the Local World Youth Day in Naga in 2009, that young people, surrender the burdens of every day life to Jesus, finding rest through listening and prayer, we pray:
13 July 2008 – 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Towards the Local World Youth Day in Naga in 2009, that young people, through the power of the Holy Spirit, hear and receive the Word of God with great joy, we pray:
20 July 2008 – 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Towards the Local World Youth Day in Naga in 2009, that young people, through the power of the Holy Spirit, become witnesses of Christ’s love to all People, we pray:
27 July 2008 – 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Towards the Local World Youth Day in Naga in 2009, that young people, like Solomon, seek wisdom and understanding above all earthly riches, serving God and their neighbour with their time and talents, we pray:
